Santa Barbara Wedding at Villa & Vine
We have done some great work at a venue in Santa Barbara called Villa and Vine and we wanted to show off some examples of our work as well as share some insights about the best wedding pros to work with and tips at Villa and Vine. Villa and Vine is great venue if you are looking to continue the party in the Santa Barbara night life on State St not to mention the great look of the venue. The look of the venue has a mediterranean vibe. The courtyard roof can be opened up so you can be under the sky or closed if it’s a tough day outside.
More often than not cocktails will be in the Arlington room which is the back room of the venue. Guests typically will enter in through the side door. Occasionaly ceremonies are held in the courtyard if you didn’t elect to do it some place else. Dinner and toasts take place in the courtyard as that’s the largest space for dinning. Dancing is moved back to the Arlington room to comply with noise ordnance of the city of Santa Barbara.
This is one of our favorite venues although it does have some unique challenges for sound. It does require having two complete setups if you want introductions and toasts in the courtyard and than dancing in the Arlington room. Space can also be tight for larger wedding such as this one so we used special speaker stands to have a smaller footprint in the courtyard to give guests the maximum amount of space. Two setups require a little more setup time plus if we have to be at another location we need to be their even earlier to make sure we are good to go.
Below are some of the top pro’s we have worked with at this venue:
Florist: Burlap & Bordeaux by far our favorite florist and all our images you see on this page is their work.
Wedding Planner/Coordinator: La Vie Events (Katelin Ridenour) and our favorite Courtney from One Sweet Day Events.
Ceremony Location: Santa Barbara Courthouse in the Sunken Gardens or we also have done Winslow-Maxwell Overlook
Lighting: Y-it Entertainment
Photo Booth: Y-it Entertainment
DJ/MC: Y-it Entertainment
Lighting can make all the difference at any event. Just take a look at some of these images from our past weddings at Villa and Vine. Uplighting for a lounge area, dance area, and the area in-between the courtyard and Arlington room. Take a look at our pin sporting of the dessert table. If there was no lighting it would just be a table with stuff on it. Complete the look with some lighting.
So you have this great looking venue. You paid for the amazing florals. You both spent a lot of time picking out suits and dresses so you both are looking perfect. Maybe you decided on having lighting for the extra pop and than you come to the DJ setup. Yes, Music and MCing are extremely important but what about the setup of the DJ? Is it a pile of equipment on a table or is it covered up to try and blend in? Below we have a picture of a competitor DJ setup and than a picture of ours. Does it make a difference? We believe it does.
