One of the things I enjoy about doing events with clients is when you can share in there moments. Angelica’s Quinceanera was no different. This was Becky’s (Angelica’s Mom) last Quinceanera so she was very versed in the details and one of the most well organized clients I have worked with on an event other than a wedding. As with most of my clients I meet with them but, this was different as I got to meet with Becky, Angelica, Angelica’s sister and few of Angelica’s friends. What a fun meeting! I felt like I was on Carpool Karaoke as we went through the music. I left with a big smile.
So leading up to the event Becky and I had a final call to go over details. She told me how they recently went to another quinceanera and they didn’t like the DJ at all. So I’m thinking, “Yikes” no pressure right? I mean this a younger crowd than I’m use to. (90% of my business is weddings) I’m playing different music than I usually play. I think I need to go spend sometime in the lab.
So the day of the quinceanera Brett my assistant and I arrived early. We had uplighting, dance floor lighting, we projected a video on the wall, we pin spotted the cake and I couldn’t resisted pin sporting the large Eiffel Tower they had as it was a Paris themed Quinceanera. During the event we showed a video, projected a monogram on the wall, and displayed #hashtags from Instagram and Twitter. We also designed a Snap Chat filter for the event as well. I knew Angelica and her friends would appreciate it. We also included light up bracelets that changed colors that we could control.
I’m so happy that Angelica, her friends, and family had a great time. I’m glad that I was able to share in their milestone in life. Watch the video to see what they had to say. -Wyatt
